Flash Interviews - Shot Put men Final

Gold - Reese HOFFA, USA

Great day and great throw. This year is very special for me from the beginning till the end. And I hope the same will happen next year. We had lot of fun out there with Adam and we both executed well our competition.  We wanted 1-2 and we accomplished that. I had a very good training programme from my coach Dan Babitt. Some are saying I am the king of the ring, now this statement is confirmed. I came early enough to adapt to the conditions and my shape was improving every day. Honestly I can tell you I was thinking a 22 metres would be needed to win. And also honestly I do not know what I will do with the money I won today.

Silver - Adam NELSON, USA

I'm pleased with the way I competed today, I achieved a seasonal best. Obviously, I'd have liked to throw a bit further, but that's OK. I'm not disputing Reese's victory, he deserves his gold, he's such a phenom. [About plans for the night] It's been a long day. I'm old. I'm going to get back to the hotel, get some food and lie down a bit.

Bronze - Andrei MIKHNEVICH, BLR

I was ready to throw more, but my legs were heavy. I was still too tired  from the time difference after the flight. I'm satisfied with the medal of course, but not with the result. It is good to have another global medal after Paris and Moscow indoors. We have strong group of throwers at home, but we all train individually. Next target is the World Athletics Final in Stuttgart.
