Gold - Valerie VILI, NZL
It feels absolutely marvellous. Before the sixth attempt my coach told me: "You've got one more throw to prove yourself where you come from, who you are. Do it for your father" [who passed away this year]. I didn't know how it felt to win a world title and now I know! The celebrations I had here in the stadium were just amazing. I just can't wait to get outside to see my coach, my husband and the people who supported me.
Silver - Nadzeya OSTAPCHUK, BLR
For me that was a very tough day. We arrived only on Friday here because of some problems with air-tickets. In the morning qualification I struggled a lot. But the physios of our team helped me. In the evening it was not so hot, so better for me. But still it is tough to compete when you want to sleep. Pity I did not had something around 20.40-20.50 earlier in the competition. Than I would have been the winner. In the competition I did not think I am already a winner, I knew all was possible and it really happened in the last round. In my career this silver will be little bit lower than the gold from Helsinki. As all my medals also this is devoted to my great mother who died back in 2002.
Bronze - Nadine KLEINERT, GER
If I am surprised about my bronze medal? Yes and no. I did not put a medal past myself, I dared to think about a medal but on the other hand I did not believe that it could really happen. In the final I was not nervous at all, I was having fun and I guess that was the secret. My season did not start so well, but I believed in myself. And in the last weeks training improved strongly. I will party tonight, yet I should not disturb my roommate because she has qualifications tomorrow. But do not worry - we will find place to celebrate!
