Gold - Veronica CAMPBELL, JAM
I was very confident - even when we did not know the result of the photo finish - because I know that I have got an excellent top speed and a strong finish. Besides, I have been working a lot on my start and improved it strongly. This medal means a lot to me and the title is important for my career. The title of world champion was missing in my collection. I have done a lot for that and it was a very competitive race. Now, I just feel great. I have to focus on my 200 metres heats tomorrow.
Silver - Lauryn WILLIAMS, USA
It's been a long hard road this year with lot of ups and downs. So, knowing where I come from, I'm proud I could be part of the photo finish. If I had realized we were so close, I wouldn't have leaned so early and run one or two more steps instead.
I think I'm in the right direction for Beijing.
Bronze - Carmelita JETER, USA
Tears of joy. I cannot describe how I feel (she only in the mixed zone got the news about her bronze medal). It is good, I want to kiss somebody, give a hug. Where is my coach and agent? Hard work and determination, it all paid off today and got me here. At the end is the medal and personal best. I am not thinking about Beijing or other events. This evening and this day is mine and very special. I am only thinking about today.
