Flash Interviews: Men's 400 Metres Semi-Final

Jeremy WARINER USA
I went hard the first 300m and could settle down in the last fifty. The way I feel right now, the final is gonna be fun.

Angelo TAYLOR USA
After my shin injury I started to concentrate on the flat 400 metres because I was kind of scared to go back to the hurdles so soon. Most definitely, I want to run fast in the final and improve my personal best. Jeremy Warriner, he looked good in his semifinal and that is what I wanted to see. That makes me more motivated, I love to race with strong competition. I am ready, I feel good!

Johan WISSMANN SWE
I started so fast and it was really a good race. On the home stretch, I was second and always waiting for the others to pass me - but they did not! It was crazy! This semifinal felt like my final today, I did all that I could. Being in the WC final and running a national record - my dream has come true! I do not know what made me so strong. I have been working on my 200 metres speed before becoming a 400 metres runner. It is amazing!

LaShawn MERRIT USA
I was running lane 7 with my main competitors behind me, so I had to get out a little bit, establish the rythm and come smooth. In the 400m people have different ways of running. In the final, whatever lane I have I'll do the same
